Robin Wortman

During his tenure CANDO established the first Aboriginal designed and delivered professional designation in Canada. As well, he formed strategic partnerships with post-secondary institutions to create the Aboriginal Economic Development Education Committee and the peer-reviewed Aboriginal Journal of Economic Development.

In 1994, Mr. Wortman initiated and managed the list in a series of Aboriginal Corporate Roundtables Co-chaired by Eric Newell, Chair and CEO Syncrude Canada Limited, and National Chief Ovide Mercredi. Robin has demonstrated abilities in strategic planning, project management, and organizational development. Mr. Wortman is bilingual and was manager of the Working Partnerships Program with the Government of Ontario from 1999 to 2000.  From 2001 to 2002 Robin was part-time Managing Director of the National Aboriginal Business Association.  Robin is dedicated to institutional, organizational, and human resource development in the Aboriginal sector of the Canadian economy.

Robin is President of Barber Lucia Productions Limited and has worked as Aboriginal Advisor to major film productions such as Dreamkeepers and Into the West.
